Shohin School 2023 Study Group (full)
$150 - Annual Dues for 2023
Members get access to monthly meetings at Rakuyo Bonsai where each month they'll get to practice creating and evaluating shohin bonsai displays. Additionally, each meeting will include a seasonal talk about care or techniques related to the time of year and a presentation about a species that is popular for shohin bonsai cultivation. Meetings are the first Saturday of each month (unless otherwise noted). A half-day workshop following or prior to each meeting will be available for $60 for Study Group Members only.

Instructor - Andrew Robson
Andrew Robson runs RAKUYO Bonsai, a deciduous focused bonsai garden in Portland, Oregon. He is an award-winning bonsai artist who studied with Michael Hagedorn after graduating from Yale University. Andrew is the President of the Bonsai Society of Portland, the largest bonsai club in the United States. He regularly exhibits work at the Portland Japanese Garden, and lectures at the garden's Japanese Arts Learning Center. Andrew is a host of the Bonsai Wire Podcast and resides in Portland with his golden retriever, Bailey. He has studied shohin bonsai and display with Japanese Shohin Master and Gafu-ten Judge Daisaku Nomoto and is a founder of Shohin School. Learn more at rakuyobonsai.com
